Following the launch of our ‘Royston & Villages Community Card’ we are proud to announce yet another new venture this January 2021, with the launch of the Ensum Brown ‘Community Fund’ from our Royston branch.
The recent launch of our ‘Community Card’ has brought together local high street shops and businesses to create a group that offers discounts and promotions to the general public in the SG8 area, with the aim of supporting local businesses by exposure, promotion and encouraging people to buy local.
For some businesses, including ourselves, offers and discounts don’t necessarily work, or they want to go a step further. The ‘Community Fund’ looks to generate important funding and support to local causes and projects that may not be able to easily generate funding themselves or lack awareness and exposure. This could be for a new public venture, a new playground, a supportive community group, a school project, a trip away for those unable to afford it themselves, food banks and so on.
Ensum Brown are launching this with a contribution of £150 for every new sales or lettings instruction during January 2021. From prebooked instructions there is already £1050 in the pot and growing! What is important is that Royston or a local village and its community will benefit directly, with funds allocated from where they came from. For example, if an instruction came from Bassingbourn, that is where the £150 will be allocated.
There will be opportunity for applications for funding from April onwards, when the fund has built up for many local communities. Applications will be assessed and the general public able to vote for where the funding should go, facilitated through our social media pages. Do follow our page for more information and updates https://www.facebook.com/EnsumBrownRoyston.
This won’t just be open for just Ensum Brown to contribute, we want this fund to be as big as possible, so all local businesses from the ‘Community Card’ group will be invited to participate if they wish. However much the contribution it will all mount up to make a big difference. Abbotts Travel in Royston have already offered to donate £50 for every holiday booked when you show your Community Card, we hope many more businesses will join.
Here’s looking forward to 2021 and all working together to make a difference to our local community!
