Location - Great Shelford
Great Shelford is a charming village located 4 miles to the south of the academic and cultural hub of Cambridge.

The parish church of Saint Mary the Virgin has changed little since it was rebuilt in 1307 and offers a place for visitors to drop in for solace and space. There are regular services and events, space inside for children to read and play, and much rich history to enjoy. There is also the Shelford Festival and Feast, which dates back to medieval times and takes place every year in the 2nd week of July.

Great Shelford has a range of shops and services, including a wine merchant/bar, two public houses, two restaurants, a library, a primary school, two barbers, a building society, a chemist, a dentist, a solicitor, an accountant, a delicatessen, a bakery and a garden centre. There is also a monthly Farmers' Market, and the village is served by Shelford railway station offering links to both Cambridge to London Liverpool Street.

Both Shelford RFC and Great Shelford Cricket Club compete nationally, boasting senior and junior teams for the local community to become involved in. There is a very active Scout Group, Beaver Colony and Cub Pack, as well as Girl Guides, Brownies and rainbows which meet in the village.

If you’re looking to purchase in the area, we highly recommend the vibrant village of Great Shelford.
