 PROPERTY INSIGHT

If you are looking for a property with kerb appeal, period charm and the perfect combination of contemporary finishing then look no further, not many cottages come better than this.

Ensum Brown are delighted to offer for sale this 17th Century, grade II listed, semi-detached cottage located on the chocolate box high street of Barkway. Stepping through the dwarf gate, the generally used main entrance is into the dining/garden room, a later addition to the property. You immediately get a great feeling of light and space thanks to the vaulted ceiling and rear, mainly glass, elevation that overlooks the delightful, enclosed, walled garden. There are also double doors giving you access to the garden and further features of the room include wood flooring and a feature fireplace.

Stepping through, you come to a recently re-fitted kitchen. The bespoke, contemporary units are a great contrast against the original brick flooring. The kitchen includes an integrated eye level double oven, microwave oven, four ring gas hob with extractor over, fridge/freezer and there is also space and plumbing for a washing machine. Perfectly completed with tiled splash backs and with a door to the rear garden and built-in storage cupboard.

Off the kitchen and typical of a period home, is a ground floor shower room, completed with a three-piece suite in white. Completing the ground floor is a delightful lounge to the front aspect. Again, with lots of features including wooden beams, a fireplace, recessed storage and display shelving and completed with inset ceiling spotlights.

Going to the first floor, this cottage continues to impress. There are three double bedrooms and certainly no box room. The master and second bedroom both benefit from built in storage and wardrobes.

If the inside hasn't sold the property to you, then the space to the rear will finish the job. The rear walled garden is generous in space and benefits from a high degree of privacy. Mainly laid to lawn with flower and shrub borders and surrounded by views of mature trees. There is a patio area immediately off the property and the final gem of this home to the rear of the garden, a brick and timber outbuilding with slate roof, something special could easily be made of this space!

Call Ensum Brown today to arrange your private viewing appointment of this rarely available home that is available with the advantage of no upward chain.
