Location - Heydon
Heydon is a quintessentially English parish village, located on one of the highest places in Cambridgeshire, just 6 miles from the town of Royston and 16 miles from the city of Cambridge. The village is within a conservation area, protecting the beautiful countryside and wildlife surrounding it. Residents have the added benefit of the Icknield Way Path which passes through the village on its 110-mile journey from Ivinghoe Beacon, Bucks to Knettishall Hall, Suffolk. The Icknield Way Trail also passes close to the village and is a local attraction for walkers, horse riders and off-road cyclists.

King William IV is a stunning 16th Century pub, set in the heart of the village, and serves real ales and an excellent selection of bar meals, as well as traditional British cuisine within the restaurant. There are also two Bed & Breakfasts in the village, and the Holy Trinity Church, which dates back to the 15th Century and is a Grade II listed building, offering regular services and activities.

Heydon offers an active community and often joins up with the neighbouring Chishall villages for events and activities. Heydon Grange Golf Club consists of an 18-hole and 9-hole golf course, with a driving range. In the neighbouring town of Royston, residents also have access to further amenities, such as the mainline train station offering regular fast services to both Cambridge and London Kings Cross. There is also a leisure centre, sports clubs, dentist’s surgeries, and highly-regarded schools for all ages. The A1M and M11 are within a 20-minute drive via the A10/A505, and London Stansted and Luton Airports are both 30-minutes away.

If you’re on the lookout for a home in a beautifully conserved, countryside location, we encourage you to visit Heydon. It’s not one you want to miss!
